Waterbirds easy to identify. Possess greenish legs with long fingered-feet that allow them to walk on aquatic floating vegetation. Yellow bill and red wattle. Like certain plovers, some jacanas have wing spurs. Female a bit bigger than the male.
Aves acuáticas inconfundibles con patas verdosas con dedos largos que le permiten caminar en la vegetación acuática. En cultivos de arroz, lagos y arroyos. Presenta pico amarillo con escudo frontal bilobulado y carúnculas laterales de color rojo. Tiene un espolón carpiano de color amarillo. Hembra más grande que el macho.
