In semi-humid and dry open areas. In woodland and forest edges. Found generally in pairs. Of grey head, yellow eyes, and pointed curved bill. White patches on wing feathers. Possess a superior vocalization or phrasing of songs. Long, complex repertoire often imitating other birds, non-bird noises, and the sound of mechanical devices. May incorporate more than 100 musical phrases that are usually repeated, often quite a few times, and somewhat modified at each repetition. Eats a variety of fruit, berries, and insects including ants, beetles, and grasshoppers. A favorite pet for cages. Can live up to 20 years.

Habitan en regiones forestales semi-húmedas y áreas descubiertas de vegetación. En pares. Poseen cabeza gris, ojos amarillos y pico puntudo. Tienen manchas blancas en las plumas de las alas. Los sinsontes poseen vocalización extraordinaria. Repertorios complejos y grandes de sonidos de otras aves y sonidos mecánicos u de otras fuentes. Incorporan hasta 100 frases musicales que varian al repetirse. Consumen fruta, bayas e insectos. Hormigas, cucarrones y saltamontes. Pájaro comercializado para jaulas. Pueden vivir hasta los 20 años.
