GULLS, TERNS | gaviotas gaviotines

Sea birds that have a piratic tendency while in shores of both sea and fresh waters. In flocks and some species are mostly solitary. They feed on crustaceans, larvae, worms, small fish and insects. They dive to catch fish and some species can live up to 32 years.

Aves marinas que roban alimento en zonas de playa y zonas de agua dulce. Muy sociales y se las encuentran en grupos. Sin embargo, hay especies solitarias. Se alimentan de crustáceos, larvas, gusanos, pequeños peces, insectos y exploran basureros. Pueden clavar en el agua para atrapar peces. Según la especie viven entre 10 y 32 años.

MALE ♂︎

A medium-sized gull with gray upperparts and white underparts. Yellow legs and feet. Favors fresh and saltwater. Feeds in garbage dumps and around farms. Seen often in flocks in city areas near restaurants, parking lots and landfills. May steal food from other birds. Sexes are similar.

Gaviota de tamaño mediano. Parte superior gris y blanca ern la inferior. Piernas y piernas amarillas. Andan en aguas dulces o saladas. Se alimentan de desperdicios de comida de basureros en la ciudad o en el campo. A veces roban comida de otras aves. Sexos similares.
