The House Sparrow is a wild bird found in most parts of the world where humans live either urban or rural. Males are pale brown and black with white and brown markings. Females are brownish and gray. Males are tough, adaptable, aggressive and survives well in the city. Also, they are considered a pest in agricultural fields. Evicts native birds from their nests. It feeds on seed, grain and weeds, but as an opportunistic eater it feeds on insects and many other foods. Visitor of bird feeders. Lays up to 7 whitish-greenish eggs marked with brown and gray dots. Both parents incubate the eggs. Fledge at 2 weeks after hatching. Two to 3 broods per year.
Los Gorriones Domésticos son aves silvestres que se encuentran practicamente en todo lugar del mundo donde habitan humanos ya sea en la ciudad o en el campo. Los machos son toscos, adaptables, agresivos y sobreviven bien en las ciudades. Son de color castaño y negro con marcas blancas. Las hembras son también castaño claro y gris. Son plagas de cultivos. Expulsan aves nativas de sus nidos. Se alimentan de semillas pequeñas. Ponen hasta 7 huevos blanco-verdosos con manchas grises y cafés y son incubados por los padres por 2 semanas.
