Twenty species out of 40 are found in humid tropical lowlands. Fly fast once they leave the perch. Fruit eaters. Usually perch at the same site and stay singing the entire day. Most often seen lekking in that male animals gathered to engage in competitive displays to entice visiting females which are surveying prospective partners for copulation. Do not form stable pairs. Only the females take care of the nest and the young. Distinctive sounds produced by a syrinx or voice-box not typical of singing birds (oscine). Highly arboreal and are exclusively forest and woodland inhabitants.
No forman parejas estables.
