Very well adapted to swim than flying. They posed heavy bones and small feathers that are densely packed. They have been seen near Gorgona Island and breeds outside Colombia (Galapagos, Argentina, Chile). Life span up to 20 years. Their wings are useless for flying but they have evolve to make superb paddles. Males and females are very similar.

Muy adaptados para nadar y no para volar.  Con huesos densos y plumas cortas abundantes para protegerse del frío. Se han observado cerca de la Isla Gorgona y crían fuera del área colombiana. Viven hasta 20 años . Sus alas no sirven para volar pero han evolucionado a robustas aletas para nadar. Hembras y machos son muy parecidos. La hembra siendo un poco menor de tamaño
