There are 7 species of these colorful and noisy birds that usually are seen in groups. These corvids usually hang out together with tanagers. Possess a powerful bill that allow them to handle a varied diet. Aggressive. Several males get together to scare intruders. Forage on the ground and tree trunks and limbs for insects and spiders; also, eat fruit, berries, nuts, and seeds. Some raid birds’ nests. Some species may live up to 15 years.

Existen 7 especies de estas aves coloridas y ruidosas que usualmente se observan en grupos. Estos córvidos se mezclan con las tángaras. Poseen un pico fuerte que les permite alimentarse de dietas variadas. Agresivos por naturaleza. Varios machos se juntan para repeler o asustar a las aves intrusas. Comen insectos y semillas del suelo. Exploran troncos y ramas para alimentarse de fruta, nueces y semillas. Algunos atacan nidos de otros pájaros. Algunas especies viven hasta los 15 años.
