Distribution

The Channel-billed Toucan is found in various regions of Colombia including areas in both the Andes and the Amazon rainforest. The Channel-billed Toucans are found in the eastern and southern regions, such as the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta, Putumayo, and Vaupés, where they inhabit humid forests and wooded areas.
These toucans prefer tropical and subtropical forests with a dense canopy, where they can forage for fruits, insects, and small reptiles. They are also known to frequent forest edges and second-growth habitats.
