It has a predominantly black and white plumage with distinct gray barring on the chest and belly. One of its most remarkable features is the bushy crest atop its head, giving it a regal appearance.

Habitat: These hawk-eagles inhabit a variety of forested habitats, including lowland rainforests, montane cloud forests, and forest edges. They are typically found in regions with dense vegetation, tall trees for perching, and suitable prey populations.

Behavior: The Ornate Hawk-eagle is a skilled hunter, preying on a variety of small to medium-sized birds and mammals.
