Habitat: This parrotlet is primarily found in the tropical forests and woodlands of northern Argentina, eastern Bolivia, and parts of Brazil. It enjoys dense, humid forests and can be seen in both primary and secondary growth areas, often close to water sources.
Behavior: Typically found in small flocks, the Scarlet-shouldered Parrotlet exhibits strong social dynamics. Being diurnal, they are most active during the day, engaging in foraging, playing, and socializing. Their diet consists mainly of fruits, seeds, berries, and flowers, making them integral to their ecosystem as seed dispersers.
Breeding: They usually nest in tree cavities, where the female lays between 3 to 6 eggs. Both parents participate in caring for the chicks, which fledge around six weeks after hatching.
Conservation Status: The species is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
