Yellow-bellied Dacnis

Appearance: The male Yellow-bellied Dacnis has a bright blue head and upperparts, with a yellow belly and breast. The female is more subdued in color, with a greenish-blue head and upperparts, and a paler yellow belly.
Habitat: Yellow-bellied Dacnis can be found in the canopy of humid forests, especially in the foothills and lowlands of the Andes mountains in Colombia.
Behavior: These birds are typically seen in pairs or small groups, foraging for insects and fruits in the treetops. They are known for their acrobatic flight and quick movements.
Breeding: Yellow-bellied Dacnis build cup-shaped nests in the canopy of trees, where the female lays 2-3 eggs. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs and feeding the chicks.
Conservation status: The Yellow-bellied Dacnis is considered to be of least concern in terms of conservation status by the IUCN.

This species is found in southern Colombia that includes Putumayo, Caquetá, Vaupés, Guaviare, and Guanía.
